Labourer
- Salary: £13 - £15 / hour
- Location: London and Hertfordshire
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Type: Permanent, full time.
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Labourer to join our friendly team at Blue Ladder Building. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the construction industry. You will gain a wide range of experience working across our diverse portfolio of projects.
The job will involve working as a labourer across several of our ongoing projects. Some of our larger projects are extensions and renovations, meaning you’ll be involved in the entire construction process – from initial groundworks and foundations, through the main construction phase, and right up to the final finishing, tiling, and decorating. This variety provides a fantastic opportunity to learn a broad range of skills from our experienced team.
Alongside larger builds, we also undertake smaller jobs, mainly for residential properties, but also for commercial clients such as schools, offices, and local businesses. This work can include fencing, kitchen and bathroom installations, and building patios and decking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting our skilled tradespeople with a wide variety of tasks across different sites.
- Preparing and clearing sites, including groundworks and digging foundations.
- Moving and loading materials and equipment.
- Assisting with basic carpentry, decorating, and other construction tasks as required by the team.
- Ensuring sites are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
- Driving the company van to deliver materials, tools, and equipment to our various sites.
About You:
We are looking for a candidate who is hardworking, proactive, and has a genuine desire to learn and develop new skills.
- Experience: No previous construction experience is essential, as full training will be provided on the job.
- Driving License: A full, clean UK driving license with no penalties or endorsements is required.
- Driving Experience: You must have at least two years of driving experience.
- Transport: It would be an advantage to have your own transport to travel to our various sites.
- Attitude: You must be a reliable, punctual, and helpful team player with a positive attitude.
