At Blue Ladder, we’re a passionate team dedicated to bringing your building visions to life. Created in 2021 by Dan Huke and Martin Kilpatrick, our company was built on a foundation of unique skills, genuine passion, and a commitment to excellence.
While we may be a small team of permanent staff (currently five people), we pride ourselves on our close-knit approach and enthusiasm for our work. Our core team is complemented by an extensive network of highly skilled contractors and specialists across various trades. This allows us to take on a whole variety of projects, big or small, and deliver outstanding results.
We specialize in a wide range of building work, with a primary focus on residential homes. However, we’re excited to see our commercial project portfolio growing steadily, demonstrating our versatility and expanding capabilities. Whether it’s a cosy home renovation or a complex commercial build, we bring the same level of dedication, precision, and care to every project we undertake.

Martin Kilpatrick
Martin’s journey began in corporate audit, but his heart lay in the world of construction. Over the past 20 years, he has honed his skills in the building trade, encompassing diverse projects, from refurbishing offices in the heart of London, including iconic landmarks like the Gherkin, to extending and redesigning homes with new kitchens, bathrooms, and gardens. Martin’s core passion is carpentry, from bespoke bookcases, staircases, and cupboards to large scale renovations and new builds. Beyond carpentry, Martin has considerable expertise and experience across all the major specialisms in domestic building. Quality is the driving force for Martin, and his work is testament to that.
Dan Huke
With a background in IT and project management, Dan is a relative newcomer to the building industry. In a few short years he has been turning his passion for creating beautiful and functional structures into a thriving business. Having been a customer of building services himself, Dan recognized the often confusing, costly, and unreliable nature of the industry. In response, he and Martin established Blue Ladder with a mission to redefine the building experience. At Blue Ladder, the customer always comes first, and our commitment is to deliver quality work at transparent and fair prices.

commitment to clarity begins with the initial quote, which encompasses projects
of all sizes.
What you see is what you pay; there are no hidden fees. Your
online quote includes a comprehensive schedule of work, cost breakdowns, and any necessary design drawings and 3D models, giving you a clear understanding of our services. We commence building only after you’ve confirmed the scope of work and agreed on the price through your dedicated customer portal on our website. Typically, we request a deposit before commencing work, with the remaining balance due upon completion. Rest assured, you’ll have a full schedule of costs and payment dates before committing to any project.
